School of English

On 30th of March 56 students made their way to England for a project week.
From 30th of March to 7th of April we stayed in Bournemouth and visited a language school, called “School of English”, for five days. On the first day we had to sign into the courses and we got a folder for our documents.

The school was quite big and the furniture of the school was pretty modern. Upstairs was a big  cafeteria, where we could buy food or spend our breaks. Altogether  were 24 classrooms in the school and a garden, where we could sit down and relax in our breaks. The classrooms were equipped with modern electrical appliances like: computers, white boards with touch screen and air condition.
The staff at school was really friendly, cooperative and always good for a joke.

We were divided into groups of 12- 14 people. Everyday we had  three lessons and after every lesson we had a short break for fifteen minutes. My teacher Lindsay was very nice and friendly and we had a lot of fun in our lessons. We did vocabulary exercises, readings, played games and sang songs, which was really amusing. The lessons were not like common school lessons in Austria, they were more relaxing and laid back.

The school also offers some activities for the evenings. On Tuesday was a film night, where we watched “In time” and on Thursday was “Japanese Night”. Japanese night was really entertaining and the students from Japan served some Japanese food. At the end of the week, we got a certificate for taking part in the language course. For me it was a great experience because I got to know better the British culture.
